Resources

Most of my materials, syntax, and data are publicly available on the Open Science Framework (OSF). I provide a handful of resources below that may be helpful to researchers conducting
similar studies.

Resource: Voluntariness and Coercion Scale (Fessinger & Kovera, 2022)

Description: This 20-item scale can be used to measure the voluntary or coercive nature of a plea decision-making process. We created this measure by adapting items from past research (e.g., Gardner et al., 1993; Henderson & Levett, 2018; Redlich & Summers, 2012) and drafting new items based on legal interpretations of these constructs (Brady v. United States, 1970; Henderson v. Morgan, 1976; United States v. Speed Joyeros, 2002). It has shown very strong internal reliability across several studies.
